time

The days keep rolling by, faster and faster as the boys continue to grow up. I enjoy them so much as the years go by. Elijah is serious, full of knowledge, enjoys learning. Most things in life come easily to him, he doesn't really have to work very hard to do well. His moods and anxiety seem to have stabilized for the most part although we still struggle at times to understand each other. He is a good person, he will become a better man.
Sam, on the other hand, is a comic. He enjoys making people laugh as long as he knows that no one is laughing at him. He embarrasses easily in that respect. He is smart, but unlike Elijah, learning does not come easily to him. He really has to work at it, and this frustrates him to no end. I wish I could make it easier for him. I know what it is to feel like your effort does not match the outcome. Although he has to work very hard, I know he will be okay.

snow days...

Okay, I know it is June, but this week we have been taken back to January's darkest days and snow. January we had several snow days where the boys missed school. Oh the celebrating that went on in our house. I took the time to remind them that they only had one calamity day left,(out of five) and anything missed after that would mean days tacked on at the end of the school year. Both boys said they didn't care. Fast forward to this week when Sam says "Why do we have to go to school on Monday, it's not fair?" It was then that I chose to remind him of the past Winter's conversation about snow days. His response- "that's suckish."

the day before...

Tomorrow, Sam will be eight! Once again, I marvel at how quickly the year has gone by. The 3 lb. preemie is no more, as he is probably taller than Elijah was at eight. We will celebrate in two weeks at the Worthington pool with friends.

School is no longer a dreaded every day experience. We were once again blessed with a wonderfully understanding teacher who truly gets Sam. He continues to recieve tutoring daily and therapies. His grade card shows how well he is doing and we couldn't be prouder of him.

WE love you Sammy!!!
